So I originally went out to buy some dresses for work and ended up buying a body mist, make up and clothes that are not for work, at all… Ah well we’ve all done it. Here are my little weekend … Continue reading
I love a good bargain me, so I wanted to share with you 5 make up items I’ve picked up this week for a steal of the century total of £26.00.
I know, amazing! So here we are ladies…
I know not everyone likes Collection 2000 but the two bits I bought this week are well on par with some MUA and Nars items I have bought and loved, I know I never thought I’d here myself say that.
The nude bronze palette at £3.99 is lovely, not as big as other pallets I have but it’s great for a small one and has all the tones I love. I’m addicted to nude and bronze colours at the moment. I’m off here, there and everywhere for work so ideal for carry on bags and handbags.
The Collection 2000 ‘Gorgeous Glow’ bronzer is a revalation too, it has a gorgeous highlighter included which is super shimmery so you don’t need that much of it, the only criticism I have is the colour isn’t as rich as some bronzer blocks I have had in the past, but you get what you pay for.
For the money, at £4.19, it’s really something. It covers evenly so it doesn’t streak and the highlighter is worth the whole palette.
My next two buys were the Rimmel lasting finish 1000 kisses lipliner and Rimmel Kate Moss lasting finish lipstick. The lipstick was £5.49 and the Lipliner £2.99. The lipstick is shade 08, I would say it’s on the pink spectrum but comes out a lovely rich, nude tone with the 011 spice lipliner it’s the perfect combo for me.
The big criticism on this one is that it doesn’t last 8 hours as advertised but it does put up with a lot, I drank wine, ate lunch and licked my lips and it stilled stayed somewhat there. I would defo buy other shades, I’m already eyeing up a brown/bronze shade.
The last item on my haul is my Wilko make up brushes. These are an absolute dream! Finished in matte black and rose gold they look like the real McCoy and to be honest they work like the real McCoy too. In my 10 or so years love affair with make up these are some of the best brushes I have used AND at £4.00 or so each I think a steal!
The angle on the blusher brush is great for wide strokes and I use just the tip to drag some highlighter across my brow bone or nose. The stippling brush is good for my skin as it really helps getting my foundation looking even (I suffer from large pores- sigh-) 10/10 for these guys, go buy them, thank me later.
That’s me all done for today, I hope you enjoyed my high street steals. If anyone has anything they feel is a steal, please do comment always looking for new make up to try…
Thank you for reading, following and just generally being awesome!

I want to start with saying that this weather is playing havoc with my skin, hair…well everything really. So I wanted to show you some of my favourite beauty essentials I reach for at this time of the year.
So I’ll jump right in!
The first buy this time of year for me is from VO5’s ‘Smoothly does it’ range This is the Tame and Shine spray and it also acts as a heat defense when you are styling your hair. The heat activated formula is great for your hair before you use your straighteners and it manages my frizzy bits after I’ve blow dried.
My second must have is Rimmel’s 60 Second Super Shine Nail Polish and my one is in the colour ‘Rose Libertine’. I love this colour as a transitional shade from Summer to Autumn. The dusky tone suits a lot of the clothes that I wear this time of year.
The third on my checklist is Pantene’s Argan Oil Hair Treatment. This stuff is like hair elixir, I swear! I don’t know about you but at this time of year my hair feels dull and dry, it really needs some life put back into it. I apply this liberally to wet hair, mostly mid length through to my ends. Once I have blow dried it, my hair feels so smooth it’s unreal. I also rub a bit through my ends when my hair is dry if they are looking a bit fried.
My fourth fancy is Lush’s Vanilla Dee Lite, now unfortunately this moisturiser has been discontinued 🙁 (Lush fans despair) This is the perfect blend of fragrance for me, I often find vanilla tones in body butters or mositurisers smell really fake. This is perfectly musky! Also as a bonus it doesn’t leave behind a yucky oily residue you might have experienced with moisturisers before. I do have a recommendation as you can’t get hold of this one anymore
and it’s Lush Body Lotion, Dream Cream. This has the same sort of texture and ingredients, so it soaks up on your lovely skin just the same. Give it a go, you won’t be sorry.
My fifth and final buy is my most loved Baylis and Harding Foot Cream. I love Baylis and Harding anything really so I’m not too precious on what scent I have. This sweet manderine and grapefruit scent is to die for. This time of year my feet really suffer, I think it’s my reluctance to give up sandals and flip flops 🙂 This cream is super moisturising and feels so luxurious. Best of all, it lasts flipping agessss because you only need a tiny bit on each footsie. Bargain!
Well there you go my lovelys, click on the product name links to whisk you away into internet land to buy these goodies if you like. I don’t think you would regret it. I’m fairly frugal so nothing on there is gonna make your recoil in horror at the price 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this post, leave me any comments about your best buys. I’m always on the lookout!
